End of Week 3

lotus pose
Today's reflection revolved on a cause that is worth volunteering time to. Day to day or exception situations, some ideas came up, community work but also natural disaster relief. We all agreed that every day we can be kind and make ourselves helpful like in the video we watched about Mr. Indifferent. >>>

Something recent and my young students remember is people's solidarity after the 2017 earthquake and probably in future years, they will talk about how they lived and survived the current situation where the optimist projections place recovery by 2022 while others say 2025.  >>>

Aujourd'hui on a parlé sur le vacances, le verbe FAIRE et des exercices sur Google Jamboard, vêtements et notre pay de residence. >>>

We recapitulated on our reading, every student presented their summary on a chapter so we all are up to date and have a good comprehension of the plot. We carried on page 259 for 15 minutes, like previous days, a unanimous voice asked for fifteen more, getting us to page 311, thanks to the help of Audible 👂😃😃😃. We still have to find what Mr. Curtain is going to do with the Whisperer machine.

We wondered about the turbines described by Mr. Curtain, he says that like the Dutch managed to master the sea, he has a similar accomplishment and can extract energy from the tide and waves.

One Small Step.

Perseverance day, the first days of the Online Summer Camp we talked about what my students wished to be when they grow up. Being an astronaut came out, the Hope Mission to Mars was news those days.

So for today, we watched a nice video related to having a life plan. We can trip once, twice, or on many more obstacles. Having a clear starting vision and teaming with our closest or those who share a similar target can be the difference for hitting or not the summit.

Here is a sample of the images used by my students to make their point.

After our Pop Art project, we played a little at the TATE kids. They have extraordinary quizzes for discovering art. This ART JOKE CHALLENGE is our preferred one so far, tomorrow we will try others.

Tomorrow we will start building a structured presentation about a Space Adventure. A little research, use of a presentation template, and spiced with a pinch of teamwork.

Aujourd'hui on a écrit sur le cahier et on a parlé sur les routes pour aller au Collége. On a vu aussi:

Le tableau de Madame Maricarmen

We are doing great with our reading, getting closer to discover what is Mr. Benedict's twin brother up to.

The Boomerang of Digital ...

Clientmoji

Today we reflected on each other's footprint on the web, started with the post title "We know what you did" to make a point that anything we have shared will come back to us.

And it can come with the force of a Boomerang. Words, data, images, or voice recordings can evolve for good or bad to oblivion, a trend, or become viral at different points in time. Even years later as it happened to Canada's Prime Minister last September.

-A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.
Sir Winston Churchill

A great GIF that I very much liked, one of my students used it to accentuate his written post.

We are almost there with the Pop Art project. We finished the picture but encounter some challenges with the Google Classroom turn in and Google Education integration.

En cours de français, on a commencé avec "Qu'est-ce ls amitié".

Same great pace with our reading, we are on page 220 on the 5th day. We reviewed the third book trailer and tomorrow we will compare it with the other two.

Before and after Cabin Fever.

We languish the days we could travel together, today we talked about how we cope with the quarantine and physical distancing. We read about ...
